Dear brothers and sisters of AMAN, today we received another letter from our brother in Nepal informing that lock down due to COVID-19 calls for more help. The letter was sent by Kiran Bohara who works in Asian Resource Foundation (ARF) Nepal.
According to the latest news, despite of growing fears of the spread of the coronavirus, the government of Nepal on Monday decided to extend the ongoing nationwide lockdown until April 15 in light of the three new cases of Covid-19 identified on Saturday and the rising number of cases in neighbouring India.
Responding to this condition, ARF Nepal contribute money and handed food packs to 15 students (those who are renting rooms) of Tribhuvan University. They also handed packs to 17 wage-earners in their locality yesterday.
To run this initiative, they had to collect money individually to buy rice, lentils, cooking oil, and salt to then handed those to a total of 32 people. They are wage-earners and students who are temporarily living in Kathmundu.
The initiative is planned to distribute food packs to 500 people at this time of continued lockdown.
